The Grammy winner was taken to Cedars-Sinai after she passed out at dinner on Sunday night, according to TMZ.
According to a report from TMZ, Tori Kelly is currently receiving treatment in the hospital for severe blood clots.
As per the publication’s account, Tori Kelly, the 30-year-old Grammy winner, was dining with her friends in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night when she suddenly fainted, expressing that her heart was racing. Subsequently, she was swiftly taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where she is presently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
As reported by TMZ, medical professionals have identified blood clots in both Kelly’s lungs and legs, and they are currently investigating the possibility of clots around her heart. Billboard has made inquiries to Kelly’s representatives to seek confirmation and gather further details on the matter.
Kelly, under the management of SB Projects, inked a deal with Epic Records earlier this year. In March, the talented singer-songwriter introduced her debut single with the label, titled “Missin U,” along with a music video that embraced a Y2K-inspired theme.
The song cleverly sampled Craig David’s 2000 single “Fill Me In,” making it Kelly’s first release since her albums “Inspired by True Events” in 2019 and “A Tori Kelly Christmas” in 2020. Notably, in 2019, she achieved Grammy success, winning the prestigious award for Best Gospel Album with “Hiding Place” and also Best Gospel Performance/Song for her hit “Never Alone.”
After the launch of “Missin U,” Kelly expressed her enthusiasm for returning to the stage in an interview with People. She revealed, “I miss touring so much. I was actually on a world tour right as COVID was happening, and it was heartbreaking to have to cancel that.”
Since then, she has been unable to embark on any tours, making the prospect of touring again one of the most exciting things she looks forward to. While she refrained from sharing specific details, she eagerly anticipates reconnecting with her fans and performing these songs together with them once more.
